MACDONALD CLAN- for Tony & Lajla

It was in Glencoe that the MacDonald clans folk where massacred, seventeen of them murdered because of a tax that had been paid a few days late in in a village that was near to them.  The monument to the people is just on the outskirts of the village and on a hill in an older part of the town. Also a small cottage that we passed where a young woman was locked in her room for weeks [ because the family didn't approve of the man she wanted to marry.{ back in the 15th century}. The family went to a neighbouring village where they contacted the plague. She survived and married her man.
