Karen is related to the "outlaw". but what an experience. We were on our way to Edinburgh, by the "backroads!. Through mountains and valleys.......another breathtaking experience. Heather seems to have "highland blood" in her as she manouvered the car aound mountain paths and, through quaint villages, over stone bridges that have stood for centuries, Ski villages, mountain walkers and backpackers .The Scots must have amazing thigh and calf muscles, everything is UP HILL here.We twisted our way through moss covered forests to arrive in Balquihidder, the resting place of Rob Roys family.....they don't know where the lad himself is buried.
It was Sunday Morning, and the rang the bell ringer, dressed in his kilt, said to us. "you watch they well be coomin up the glen in a mooment! True to his word they came, some driving, some walking, men dressed in their kilts, little children , mum and dads it was so enchanting..........like the Vicar of Dibley. We watched in awe at this wonderful spectacle.
